The ancient and holy texts such as the Puranas, Ramayana and Mahabharata...are they trying to tell us something.....something which we currently dont have the capability of ?
It seems they are hiding a wealth of knowledge in their stories ..but we are like a child still trying to understand what they are really referring to.
Avatars of Gods and Theory of Evolution
Lord Vishnu is supposed to have incarnated in various forms
1. Fish
2. Turtle
3. Boar
4. Narasimha (Half Lion-Half Human)
5. Waman (Pygmy)
6. Parshuram (representing human in nomadic form)
7. Ram (perfect human and represents a settled way of life)
8.Krishna and Balarama (human at the pinacle of civilization)
If you watch the sequence from 1 to 8 above, does'nt it look like a reference to the Evolution of man as described by Charles Darwin ? ...that we came from unicellular beings that evolved into Humans after milions of years through various stages.
Even the ancient Greeks mention that we came from the sea.....
Perhaps the egg-laying mammal - The Playtpus the link between our reptilan ancestors and mammalian descedants hold the key to this answer too.
Guided Weapon Systems
In Mahabharata is mentiond a famous warrior - Barbareek, the son of Ghattokacha who was the son of the Great Bheem.
He had only 2 arrows in his quiver - the first one would locate and mark the target while the second one would follow and destroy the target. Looks like our ancients knew about Guided missile systems much before any other civilizations"
Weapons of mass destruction
In Ramayana and Mahabharata we hear reference to "Bhramaastra" a weapon which only few warriors could unleash...which when unleashed resulted in destruction of huge proportions.
The description of the after-effects of this astra finds curious similarity with the description of after effects of Atom-Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Did the ancients have access to weapons of mass destruction of such massive scale ?
